I'm 29 years old. I graduated with a bachelor's in Spanish in 2007, and taught high school Spanish for a year.
After deciding that wasn't for me, I took online classes at STLCC for two years. I didn't think the remaining classes were worth the money, so I spent another two years finishing preparing for CART/captioning on my own. Part of that preparation included passing the RFO Caption Master series.
I am currently an NCRA-certified CART provider and broadcast captioner.
